All Classes take place in the Meadowlake Activity Center.  All dogs must be current on vaccinations to participate in classes.

Puppy Prep

Saturday January 21 from 9:30AM-10:30AM
Tuesday February 7 from 6:00PM-7:00PM
Puppies must be between 10 weeks and 6 months old to participate in this class.

Get your puppy started off on the right paw!  The focus of this six week course is to establish communication between you and your pup.  Sit, down, stay, come, take it, leave it, drop it, and leash walking are a few of the commands we cover in Puppy Prep.  In addition, Meadowlake Trainer, Tori Hankey will give you the key to great house manners.  Everything you need to know about how to prevent mouthing, biting, chewing, nipping, barking, digging, jumping on people and furniture, proper crate training techniques, and house breaking will be covered. 

Hound Diploma

Monday January 23 from 6:00PM-7:00PM
All dogs must be at least 6 months old to join this class.

It's never too late to teach any dog!  This six week course includes the Puppy Prep curriculum, but keeps the older dog in mind.  Hound Diploma lays the foundation for a happy life between you and your dog.  Emphasis is placed on discouraging bad habits and reinforcing positive behavior. 

Canine Masters 

Monday January 23 from 7:00PM-8:00PM
Completion of Puppy Prep or Hound Diploma, or equivalent required to enroll.

Half way to being a good canine citizen!  This 6 week course is designed to build on the vocabulary established in previous courses by increasing duration, distance, and distractions for you dog.  Here we are geared towards teaching that stay means stay and come means come even with people, dogs, cats, squirrels, and toys as distractions. 

Doggie Doctorate 

Tuesday January 24 from 7:00PM-8:00PM
6 week course
Completion of Canine Masters, or equivalent required for participation.
Preparation of the Canine Good Citizen test included.

You can have control of your dog in public!  This course is designed to ensure the reliability of the commands your dog knows whether you are at a park, in your local pet store, visiting a hospital, or plan to have company over.  Topics covered are directly related to the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, and preparation is included in this course.   

The following class will take place at the DockDogs diving pool.  All dogs must be current on vaccinations to participate.

Aqua Dogs I

Saturday January 21 from 11:00AM-12:00PM
5 week course

Start your DockDog off on the right paw! This five week course is designed to get your dog familiar with the water and comfortable on the dock. Meadowlake trainer Tori will then work with you to get your dog to jump off the dock, and demonstrate the proper throwing techniques.  From there, the class will work on increasing the distance of each jump.  No experience is needed to be a DockDog, and all breeds are welcome to participate.  Space is limited and will fill up quickly!
