The opening of Meadowlake in June 2009, was a culmination of over five years of research, by Carroll Ray. Creating the most state-of-the-art facility, recruiting a caring and motivated staff, and developing top operational procedures to help insure the safety and comfort of all Meadowlake pet guests was her top priority. Meadowlake has received multiple awards over the last six years such as Best Boarding, Best Daycare, Best Training, Best Grooming and Friendliest staff by Houston Pet Talk Magazine and Pearland’s Journal. In 2014, Meadowlake Pet Resort became Meadowlake Pet Resort and Training Center as we developed the most successful dog training
program in Pearland and among the top in the Houston area. Our training has improved the lives of hundreds of families and strengthened the bond between pet and pet parent.
Galleria Area Location
Meadowlake Pet Resort & Training Center has opened a second pet resort November
20th, 2018. Located at 6393 Richmond Avenue in the Galleria area, the new facility has created a convenient destination offering the same diverse menu of services including
lodging, daycare, training and grooming.
The new location, which can accommodate 75 pets for daycare and nearly 150 for lodging, features amenities unique to the Galleria area destination. For example, all rooms are “suites” with glass fronts and families with multiple dogs are able to easily house pets together thanks to the adjoining room feature.
The center includes security cameras, a speaker system that plays soothing music for lodging guests, and an onsite staff member for overnight care. Additionally, a number of experienced Meadowlake team members including managers and operational staff have joined the new facility to ensure high standards are maintained.

Meet Our Team
Carroll Robertson Ray
A native Houstonian and life–long animal lover, Carroll is the proud mom of Rose and Lex Hochner and Harley, her rescue Goldendoodle. She has been an active business woman all her life. Carroll studied the kennel business extensively before assembling a team of dedicated experts to assist in the design, construction and staffing of her own unique pet resort, named after her favorite childhood street. Carroll is involved with many Houston area community organizations including; the University of Houston, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Ballet Foundation, the Neuhaus Center and many more.
Laura’s career with animals began at the tender age of 14 when she began work at a pet store. Her many years of animal care experience include shelters and zoos, most notably the Houston Zoo – with over 4,500 animals for whom Laura helped provide sanitary housing, meals, medical care, training and even education. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Laura moved to Houston in 2004. Her family includes her husband Dave, daughter Savannah, son Aaron, Boston Terrier Fenway, Rottweiler mix Lambeau, and Great Dane Cava. She is delighted to be part of the Meadowlake family and to provide exceptional care and love to all the animals at their “home away from home.”
